Clinton Hill / Crown Heights edge renter guide

The Alanza - 957 Atlantic Ave.

A nine-story amenity building on a busy Atlantic Avenue block. The location is central, but the exact apartment line matters: street-facing and rear-facing units can feel very different.

What it is actually like

The Alanza has a long amenity list: gym, coworking area, lounge, game room, cinema, pet wash, bike storage, indoor parking, courtyard and roof. Many apartments have balconies or terraces, but not every unit does. Kitchens are open-plan; laundry is in the building.

The neighborhood

Atlantic Avenue puts you between Clinton Hill, Crown Heights, Bed-Stuy and Prospect Heights. That gives you useful access to several neighborhoods rather than one tidy “main street.” The flip side is traffic: Atlantic is a major road, so visit with the windows closed and open.

Getting around

The C at Clinton-Washington is the closest straightforward train for most residents. The A/C/S at Franklin or Nostrand expands the options depending on your route. If your commute depends on one station, walk both directions before deciding.

Our take

A practical choice for renters who want modern common spaces and access to several parts of central Brooklyn. Noise-sensitive renters should spend extra time comparing exposures.
